"I have 2000 subscribers" … damn π
I just started learning how to code with The Odin Project 1 month ago, and today I hit a big wall trying to solve a problem. It's really discouraging not to understand something, but I'm going to keep the hard work, and this year is going to be different, and I'm going to achieve my goals. We have to stay hard πͺβ€
Hey, i'm 23, graduated from IT but i didn't like it, i let go of coding the moment i graduated. but I started learning Frontend Development month ago after i dropped coding for a whole 2 years. i was able to get CSS HTML & JS quickly in one month, now i'm learning Vue which is So new to me, i've been trying to write anything with vue for a whole week, nothing is coming out of me, i'm not getting it, it feels like i'm not even thinking, i've read the document, watched tutorials, tried to write real code, it's just too complicated. but i'm not gonna let it go, i'm not gonna spend a whole day without coding or trying to. if (keep doing it) is the thing then i'm in, it's my only way out, it's the only path i can take to see the sky. i just bought a vue course, i'll spend the next month learning and building things with vue. and i won't let it go. thanks. i have this issue of always thinking (i'm not smart enough for this). but ig showing up is the real deal… thanks again. please, wish me luck. i spent the last 2 days crying at 2 am cuz idk how to write the code!.
Thanks
Johnny Sins switched careers?
I love how you didn't just stick to talking about just coding, like a computer (pun intended). You brought up REAL life situations that will affect you and your mental. You really struck a chord with me, thank you. I needed this video.
I am 25 exactly I am trying to learn cs50
I'm 27, I've achieved nothing but drugs and video games, got into coding for a few months, also bald, this guy is just like me fr
Johnny Sins has come a long way
thank u i really this is very helpful
i speak english but my main language is spanish too
This is an Etremely Valuable video. In my opinion, you could read many motivational books, go to motivational seminars, and trust me, you learn and get all the motivation you need in this 14 minute video. I'm going to save this link and offer to send it to anyone who I think should listen to it, or when I come across someone who decided to give up on the idea of a better future. I come across these situations often. WOW !!!! Thanks Dorian. An added note. Many of my friends who did time in prison, (nothing violent) became successful. I always asked how they did it. The answer was always the same. "I had no choice. I had to do it myselft. It was next to impossible to get a job and when I did, it barely paid me a living." Two examples, a friend of mine opened up an MMA Studio, and another made a nice income as a Barber and eventually opened his own successful Barbershop. PS. I don't know about you guys (gender neutral) but this video has taken my mind to the next level. Wonderful !!!!!
Did you take online classes to learn ? Also html nested lists is ugh
Where did you go to school ?
Wow! Same here, grew up without a father, and an immigrant mother. I am literally in Software Engineering education NOW and I am also 32. This story is truly inspiring, didnβt even finish watching the complete video yet, but I am sure many of is can relate. ππ
Thank-you man just in timeπ
Is there anyway I can email you, or set up a way to communicate. I found the video very relatable. I just felt like I need to reach out to you
Living example of what people can do if they really want to and set their mind to do it, thank you β€
This video was really helpful i am 18 right now at my second year in college in software and i kinda struggle with programming and i feel like everyone is ahead of me in coding , but i will keep going
This is the motivation i needed thank you β€β€β€
I'll come back one day too see this and remeber this video at the beginning of my journey.
You werenβt a loser, you werenβt able to win thereβs a difference, until you knew that you could you didnβt so amazing for giving this a go and now inspiring others!!! π
i did an undergraduate degree in a completely unrelated field (business and spanish), and i decided that the business route wasnt for me, i took an introductory masters course in computer science and have been doing it for 2 weeks. It's a terrifying feeling to invest time and money into something that you're a complete beginner at but i won't give up, hopefully in a years time i can update this with my own mini success story!
THX man youre the best i am only 14 years old my father told to learn coding and i wasn't motivated even when he said he would buy me a e scooter and a new xbox i hope you understand what i mean because i i am from iraq and live now in austria because of the war 10 years ago me and my family flee and i was just 4 years old . I just want to say Thank you and Respect to you what you been thro and still managed to get a good life.
Everytime I feel lost and want to give up, I always come back to this video π Hope one day I can comeback and comment as "I did it. I learn my first job in tech industry!" π€©
YOu helped me. Thank you. Currently self teaching myselfcoding through The Odin Project and I really needed the boost. Your awesome.
This might look a bit all over the place for YT standards, but you're clearly speaking from the heart, and that's refreshing and motivating. Thanks, dude. 7 months in and I slowed down quite a bit this month (trying to create a todo list with weak planning skills and disorganized way of coding is so tiring),.but I'm hyped again.
3 years later you have 286k followers !!!!
I am 38 years old and I feel stuck in life. i have the same background as you and decided to learn programming and find a job as a programmer. Thank you very much for your video and I wish you all the best
Thank you ππ§‘π
Very inspirational! Keep coding, and pushing until you get it. You keep trying until you get it. Not for you to give up.
Im 42 and beginning to code. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Very inspiring.
