It’s beyond cutting spending and budgeting and getting three jobs at this point. You need to start moving whole families into single bedrooms in an apartment. You need to have a family of three in each bedroom so you’re all paying towards the same rent.
I stopped buying full stop and I do mean full stop.
I lived on vegetables and potatoes,, rice , milk, cereals, bread, butter, ham, and few bathroom products for months,
I stripped right back, I ignored all buying , I wanted my life back, my freedom. That was my over all aim, to breath again, no anxiety , no stress and knowing I owed no money to anyone, anything, or any business .
I wanted to be free .
I threw hundreds and hundreds at my bills , a lot of nights was simple jacket potatoes and a simple topping not for everyone I know but several months of strict sacrifice , for freedom , absolutely 💪💪💪💪💪,
Now when I get paid, I can check my money that's gone into my bank and I love the fact, it does,nt go straight back out to anyone .
Thats my calm , that's my freedom, taking back me 👍

Focus, discipline, intentionality and intense desire to get off the debt trap, otherwise you won't get anywhere. Side hustles must be part of your lifestyle until you get out of the pit. No two ways about it, unfortunately unless you win the lottery which will also go down the drain unless you have a plan and stick to it. Unfortunately, that is the price you have to pay. What Ramsey, et al, are trying to do is to get you so hyped up that you will follow the mantra with all your might.
He no longer wanted to be a husband or father. Simply divorcing his wife would’ve still left him with the responsibility of fatherhood which he didn’t want. He wanted an entirely new life free from anything attached to his old life.
All they do is repeat exactly what Dave says. I know it’s his daughter but do they have their own opinions or ideas to share? And extra jobs? How? show me someone with 3 kids under 3 and already working 32hrs while husband works crazy hours also. And can’t afford daycare. Not making an excuse I just want to actually hear from someone so I can feel this is possible to be DEBT FREE
Doing that currently it does sucks but it works just takes time that’s why I’m looking for a higher paying main job so it doesn’t feel as bad

I understand the need for a budget, but to get two extra jobs to help pay off debt is not good for everyone. When is this person going to sleep? Why is this person going to eat healthy when is this person going to exercise? These things are just as important as paying off debt.

However, this plan doesn’t work with kids, the unpredictable costs that come up, are out of this world. Lunches, Tshirt day, projects, unexpected movie outings, new shoes, haircuts, birthday gifts. Aaaaahhhhh! I try but then I fail, over and over!!
Take that extra job you have and pay yourself first! Put that in your pocket!! That second job is supposed to help you climb out and or getting ahead.

Ah yes, the have no life or real social connections strategy. I understand getting a second part time gig to pay a few hundred dollars towards something. However, I can’t take you serious when you get to talking about a third job. It’s maddening.
