  2. This guy knows nothing about meditation. Its nothing to do with stopping thoughts. Its actually very dangerous to even try and you can get really bad mental health problems if you listen to him. This is not meditation

  3. Its less about trying "not to think", because to "think" is the nature of the mind. So I think its a disservice to tell people that in order to meditate, you have to stop your thoughts. Because that only happens after years of deep devotion to meditation. But generally I believe that meditation isn't about stopping your mind from thinking, it's about not attaching to the thought. Let it arise in your consciousness and let it dissipate. Don't fight it, don't engage it. Simply observe it coming in and going out, while focusing on your breath (breath from the belly and in and out through the nose). Its about creating distance between you, as pure awareness or pure consciousness and the thoughts the arise in your mind. The more you practice meditation in this fashion, the more you'll begin to create that separation from your thoughts and inevitably your mind becomes quieter and quieter. But it takes time and meditation is not all about having a blank mind. It's about recognizing and experiencing ourselves at the deepest level, as pure awareness.

Think of a word that has no meaning, .e.g., kanome, does not bring any meaning into your mind, repeat it non-stop for about 20 minutes, while you keep repeating, your mind will slip away every now and then, bring it back, and do the process again… the first times won't be easy, as like in doing other things, practice makes it better and when you disciplined to do it two sessions every day, you become better at it, don't forget mastery takes time!..

Your going to go into that state of meditation and your going to get restless, and that tells you.. you need to meditate, because if you cant sit there and transcend and get rid of your thoughts, your going to be in trouble. And think about the power that you have when you can go into that nothingness and experience that."
