  1. Ty! i’m running my first mile on monday for my school athletics, i’ve been watching tips because i’m really nervous and am new to running. wish me luck, hoping it’s not as hard as i think!

  2. That’s true! Sundays I do long runs up to 10km or more and at the beginning I start reaaaallyyyyy slow (I run daily, about 4-8mils per day). And it really helps a lot, at the end I am still very fast but on the long runs you have to put the effort differently than on short runs. Short runs (4-6k) I really go on speed and train to put my legs high, working on breathing and posture. 🔥

  3. I’ve been long distance running for close to 3 years now and this was something learned the hard way. Wanting to get after right way prevented me from running longer distances early on, your channel has helped a lot. Keep up the great work, hope to see you at a marathon in the near future

  4. I just strictly breath in and out of my nose. Yes sometimes if my nose is stuffy it will get messy but that why I clean it out before I run. Also, if I am running to the point where I have to change my breathing style I know I'm pushing to hard for long distance training.

  5. I came across your channel while searching for "how to prepare for a marathon" and honestly the content is relatable especially now that I am preparing for my first marathon ❤❤❤

  6. One of the hardest things is to run without music, music takes the self doubt while running without it, it increases your doubt and makes your breathing hard! One thing I let is to talk while running this open the idea of thoughts and eliminates that self doubt.

  7. This is so true. I never ran a 5k before. I’ve always started to fast and got burned by the 3km. I’ve started with a pace and kept that for the entire time. I could have not believed I’ve finished 5k with 0 training.

  8. If you get a side stich, try rhythmic breathing. Inhale for 2 steps, exhale for 2 steps. There are other options, like 3:3, 2:3, etc but 2:2 is probably the simplest and easiest to try out.
