  1. As gym bros, we always make fun of people who say “I want to tone my body, not build muscle” yet here is Jay saying essentially the same thing haha “we want to condition the muscle (abs) not build them” I get what he is saying, just funny to hear from a top notch bber

  2. I love the rope crunch, I just get the most insane abdominal contractions with these from upper all the way into my lower abs. I usually start my workout with these and then I like to move onto a leg raise exercise whether it be laying on a flat bench or hanging to work the lower abs, and lastly I'll superset just basic crunches or situps on a decline bench with either laying side crunches, laying side leg raises, or weighted side bends for the obliques and I just alternate between these exercises for my superset finisher in my ab workouts. I always treat my abs like any other muscle group using high volume (minimum of 20 working sets each workout, but the only thing I do differently is that I use a higher rep range usually aiming for 4 or 5 sets 15 – 20 reps on each exercise doing primarily bodyweight exercises whereas with all the other muscle groups I'm doing all sets of 12 right now with as much weight as possible).I train my abs 2x a week on leg day training my abs first and then proceeding to legs that way I know I'm gonna give my abs the intensity they need to improve. Often times if I do legs first I'll wind up just going thru the motions on abs usually cutting the workout short or just skip them all together so I've learned for me it's best to train them first.

  3. If you're natty you can build abs and you SHOULD build abs because you will never get bodybuilder large waist issues. You train them like any other muscle because they are like any other muscle, so with progressive overload
