  1. Bum.backwards and back arched unlocks your hips. I mostly vary between a pancake and middlesplit. I open up with pancake and then go to middlsplit. To sit upright you can go for a hybride between pancake and split. I use it for highkicks in kickboxing

  2. Just do an anterior pelvic tilt while doing isometric middle split holds. By doing an anterior pelvic tilt there is no bone on bone contact and you will be able to master the middle split.

  3. Never knew this…Still nowhere near it, nor have I been trying, but good to know, because I was definitely trying it the wrong way and never understood how this could be done with any amount of stretching.
