Thanks for making these videos.
At 53:20 your drill is taking a long time to bore because of your drill speed.
Reduce your drill speed and apply more pressure to bore faster.
A high drill speed heats up the bit.
The heat dulls the tip, which slows the boring.
You could also use a metal-to-metal cutting fluid.
In the uk we always say measure twice cut once especially in welding fabrication 🇬🇧🇮🇪.
Hey Jeff! Thanks for the video! Old video but I hope you still answer my question. I want to build a 20×10 shed in my back yard. Is it worth cutting birds teeth in each of the rafters for added stability or is that pointless if also using hurricane ties? Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Even with the cold you still keep your good humor 😂! ❤
The age thing…I totally understand!!!
Haha I love it Jeff. Thanks for all the great videos and teaching.
No no no
56:00 note to self: feed door like a print sheet vs roll up.
Excellent job , i like the part of the raise for using tape measure
I freaking love Matt hes killing me 🤣🤣 "Does this mean Ima get a raise?… Guess not" bro I cried laughing
Just a heads up, whenever you have plywood sticking out/leftover that you need to cut out, a router is a very simple solution. No need to measure or draw anything out. Specially for those windows, just make a little hole for the router bit to go in and route it out from the outside. Super easy and opening cimes out perfect following the 2x4s.
I am 72 and I am building my first shed or anything. I'm following "How to build a Shed" and "Build your OWN workshop" videos. Today I'm putting on the board that squares from the WORKSHOP VIDEO and putting on the skin from the SHED video.
A DIFFERENCE THAT I NOTED — IN THE SHED VIDEO, YOU PLACE TWO BOARDS ON TOP OF EACH SIDE THAT HOLDS THE ROOF TO TRANSFER THE WEIGHT THROUGH THE BOARDS OF THE WALL.
In the OWN Workshop video, YOU HAVE A BOARD ABOVE AND BELOW THE WINDOWS ON ONE SIDE AND MAYBE THAT TRANSFERS THE WEIGHT. ON THE OTHER LOWER SIDE, YOU DON'T HAVE A SECOND BOARD. AM I SUPPOSE TO SKIP THESE BOARDS? Have you found something new?
glad to know there is just as much crap given on their worksite as with me and my brothers-in-law when we build something.
Funny how you get all this praise you are a hack
It hurts to think about how much $ is made from the millions of views on these hack videos

4 minutes in and you show a fabulous tip I've never seen before – the notch instead of a hole for the J bolts. Brilliant. Maybe I can do this (by myself). Thanks. Onto the rest!
I would have just taken all that cut wood and gave myself a triple topplate instead of fixing the tall wall.
(not really) but that wall standing up too tall was super realistic
favorite part of the video…. 50:50
You would probably be done a lot faster if your helper would just shut the hell up and do what he is told and stop trying to out think you lol
do you have to cut rafter cuts (seat cuts) if you do a roof like this on 4/12 pitch? Thanks!
