  1. I’m in Barcelona for the first time right now and have been to many areas over the last 4 days and as far as safety, it’s the most safe city I’ve visited and I live in Brooklyn NYC.
El Born and the Gothic regions are the most fun.
Watch for cars, bike and scooters all the time as many streets appear to be pedestrian only but are for all vehicles, I even saw a huge cement truck come down a small alley road in Born!
The beach near the port is crowded, but just go to the furthest north end (Somorrostro beach)and it’s way less crowded, but a little bit more to walk.
Be prepared to be hounded by beach vendors selling blankets and mystery mojitos.😊

  2. I wonder if the safety issue is the same now (March 2025) or if it's just fear-mongering sensationalism hearing from many sources that the amount of people selling and approaching tourists (esp La Rambas, and at night) are very pushy and it's very uncomfortable now. Can anyone confirm this from the ground?

  3. dude thanks, just sold an original painting and immediately bought a round trip ticket to barcelona before I wasted the money on rational things like food and bills, hahaha. going at the end of March….first going to Figures, Spain to see burial museum of Salvador Dali is my main focus. Dali would like that i sold a painting just to go see him…Gaudi and barcelona will be a nice bonus lol. I'm definitely staying where u recommended Exiemple and or Gracia. My itinerary is to go to Spain for ten days, then fly to east berlin for 3 weeks then back to Spain for another week. So stoked. Urs is the first video about Barcelona i watched so far, gonna check more of ur videos thanks again.

  4. David- Just watched both your Nice and Barcelona videos. We have a 2-day span in-between our Mallorca week and our Greece week and are trying to decide between 2-nights/1.5 days in either Barc or Nice. We are active, mid 40's, distance runners who like to get our runs in, but also enjoy exploring unique spots. Fancy meals aren't our thing, but walking around, getting small plates at hidden spots are what we like doing. Don't really shop as we're traveling with one large backpack for the trip. Thoughts?

  5. Would Cotton House Hotel, Autograph Collection be a good location to stay ? We're planning 5 days in February and the focus is food and sights, not so much the party life.

  6. I don't understand the "tourists go home" if it is the people who go there to live and buy up the places (that the Spanish are selling them at inflated prices, like the people in Cornwall England are doing) are the problem, not the tourists !

  7. we went to Barcelona and stayed minutes away from las Ramblas. I agree it felt safe even at night, but like all major cities full of tourists you get the pickpockets, so we were prepared and took out just what we needed for the time there. We had no problem luckily, as long as you are aware of the pickpockets and do your best to avoid being a victim, you will have a great time in Barcelona.

  8. If you are a Jazz fan, the San Andreu Jazz Band is world famous. When they are playing in town, try to get tickets. They have a festival called 'Jazzing" every year from about August 30 to Sept 2.

  9. I was picked pocket 50 euros at train station. Lady was “helping “ me to buy a ticket and got me!!! I was able to came back and got my $$ back but be careful
