This episode really hits deep. Thanks so much Sahil and Grace
Does anyone ever answer “Hardly working”?? 😂 I think we’re all grinding
This has been my favorite episode by far! Thank you 😊
I used to watch your vlogs when I was in college, and I recently started watching them again. It feels like we grew up together since the timing is very similar. It’s great that you’re still creating content and sharing insights from your professional life! I think it’s truly valuable to create unique and genuine content in a space where popular trends keep repeating.
❤ thanks Grace & Sahil x
I feel like I’ve manifested this episode, this has helped so much with my current struggles, thank you 🙏🏼
To have an extraordinary output, you need to have an extraordinary input! A bar!!
Thank you so much. My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. Thanks to larysa Caba, my portolio is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made last year.
Loved this episode! ❤Thank you for distilling the wisdom and sharing!
I absolutely love this episode! It would be amazing to see an episode with Krissy Cela one day!
Feeling stuck is the worst because it makes you think nothing will change, but it always does. Sometimes you just need a new perspective or a small push forward
Such a great episode! How to bucket your time was so helpful!

I’d never heard of Sahil before, but wow what a grounded, knowledgeable person. Some of his nuggets of wisdom really hit home. Followed on IG and looking forward to learning more!
Even though your conversations is well-intended to help people in their career and general life, I think you’re both speaking from a relatively privileged perspective and most of the advice you give does not resonate with the life of the average Jane. Theoretically it makes sense that the more effort you will put into work, the more it will pay off. Sadly, that is just not a world we live in. The majority of workers (even in ‘developed’ countries) are underpaid and overexploited (see Amazon workers, farm help, factory workers, delivery services, academia). The example given of working an 80 hour work week in finance with a high degree and probably relatively very high salary and ‘multi-tasking’ calls and a walk, to show that anything is possible if you just ‘work well enough’ is for me a very big miss and shows that the guest is very unaware of social issues in the work field. The majority of workers have generally a workload that extends beyond what they are paid for. Then having to work ‘just a bit more’ to get to the top 10% is unjust and shouldn’t be put on the employee that is already being exploited for their work. Additionally, workers that work in factories, at an office and in the service business (to name a few) do not have the ability to multitask during their job to get ahead of the game.
Additionally, the idea that every worker has the same amount of time in the day to advance in their career is just not realistic and comes from a very privileged standpoint. Women often put more time in taking care of the house and the children. They are also more likely to be (sexually) assaulted and discriminated against at work (very mentally and physically taxing). Minimum wage workers often times have to work multiple jobs to even survive. Being in survival mode takes an insane amount of mental capacity and often results in poorer health and you cannot expect them to put in more work ‘to better their future’, whilst their employers are profiting of their exploitation. Minority groups do not get the same work opportunities as white straight men and they should not have to work harder to get those same opportunities. Basically, do not blame the individual for having a hard/poor/difficult life or not getting to the top, but employers and capitalism. (I know there was no direct blame in the interview, but there was sort of an unspoken line in this conversation that an individual not at the top 10% is lazy somehow or just not wants it enough.)
Lastly, I want to address the advice he gives about not complaining about anything. From my complaint above, you can probably see that I am a big fan of complaining (no my name is not Karen). If you are in a bad situation and you cannot do anything about it: COMPLAIN. Complain until someone with the power to do something helps out. I have been sexually harassed: I have complained. I have been discriminated against because of my gender: I have complained. I complain about (social) issues, because I care about these topics. I have not have the power single handedly to change them, but many voices (complains, protests) do make a difference. Not complaining is keeping the status quo. On top of that, complaining to your friends about difficulties in your life that you cannot directly fix is very a very healthy social stress releaser. If my friends are never complaining and just always saying that they will fix it or forget about it, I know they are just pushing down their feelings (and we know that is not healthy😊).
Omg I needed this. Have been thinking about how my path recently is unconventional and felt lonely. Glad to watch this episode to understand why and felt less alone. Will be taking away lots from this episode.
What an incredible and insightful thing known by the conersation. Thanks @sahilbloom for all the things. Respect about your journey and been inspired to do things you actually love.
Interesting! But oh, generally I really wish you would incorporate ethics more in these talks. Talking about what you want has it's place, but talking about what you should, is for me even more interesting. I would love to learn more about ethics and finance for example. We do not only live to make a better life for ourselves but also for others (which again will make our life better).
Such a worthfull video… Thank you.
I'm retired at 40,went from grass to grace. This video here reminds me of mine transformation from a nobody to good home, good cars,$255k 3 week and a good daughter full of love
All thanks to God,God bless America 🇺🇲❤️
Loved this episode, agree people need to work hard to get promotions etc but also employers should not be expecting people to work above their pay rate/ position description to get a promotion. Businesses should be giving staff opportunities to show their skill while getting paid! Temporary promotions, holiday relief etc.
