మేధావుల్లారా! భద్రతగా, స్వేచ్ఛగా, నిర్భయంగా జీవించడమా ? లేక అభద్రతతో ఆత్మాభిమానాన్ని చంపుకుని పశువులలాగా జీవించడమా ? ప్రపంచంలో ఎక్కడ లేని విధంగా, కేవలం భారత్ లోనే ఆస్తుల కొఱకు తల్లితండ్రులను కొడుకులు చంపడం, మద్యానికి బానిసై, కేవలం 100 రూపాయల కొరకు, తల్లిని తండ్రిని చంపడం, అక్రమ సంబంధాలతో భర్తలు భార్యలను చంపడం, భార్యలను భర్తలు చంపడం, తల్లులు కన్న కూతుళ్లను, కొడుకులను చంపడం, మైనర్ బాలికలను, ఆడవారిని, అత్యాచారం చేసి హత్య చేయడం, ప్రేమ పేరుతో, ఆడవారిని మోసం చేసి, లొంగదీసుకుని, శారీరకంగా అనుభవించి హత్యలు చేయడం పేపర్లో చూస్తున్నాము. ఇంటి నుండి బయలు దేరిన అబ్బాయిలు, అమ్మాయిలు భద్రతగా ఇంటికి తిరిగొచ్చేవారుకూ తల్లితండ్రులు ఆందోళన చెందుతుండం నిజం కాదా? ప్రపంచంలో రోజు రోజుకు మతపరమైన హింసలు పెరుగుతున్నాయి, సెక్యులర్ దేశాల్లో జరుగుతున్న హింస, హత్యలతో లౌకిక దేశాలు ఆందోళన చెందుతున్నాయి. భారత్ లో కూడా మతపరమైన హత్యలు, హింసలు పెరుగుతుండడం నిజం కాదా?
మన ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు అక్రమాలు చేస్తే, ప్రజలు వారి మీద పోలీస్ స్టేషన్లో ఫిర్యాదు చేసే స్వేచ్చ భారత్ లో ఉందా? దాని గురించి ఎవరు ఆలోచించాలి ? ఆఫీసుల్లో ప్రజా ప్రతినిధుల సిఫారసులు లేకుండా న్యాయంగా, నిజాయితీతో పనులు జరుగుతున్నాయా? పాలనలో అవినీతి పెరిగి, ప్రజలకు న్యాయం దక్కక ఆత్మక్షోభతో కుమిలిపోతూ, ఎవరినీ ప్రశ్నించే దేర్యం లేక, రాజీ పడుతూ, పిరికితనంతో, ఆత్మవంచన చేసుకుని, జీవిస్తుండడం నిజం కాదా?
ఇంతటి ఘోరమైన సంఘటనలు జరుగుతున్నాకూడా, వాటిని మేధావులనే వాళ్ళు పట్టించుకోకుండా మౌనంగా ఉండడమంటే ఆశ్చర్యం కదా? ఎందుకు మీలో స్పృహ, చైతన్యం కలుగడం లేదూ? చుట్టూ ఉన్న జంతువులకు ఏం జరిగినా పట్టించుకోవు, ఎందుకంటే వాటికి మంచి, చెడు అనే ఇంగిత జ్ఞానం తెలియదు. వీటిని పరిష్కరించడానికి మేధావిలానేటోళ్లు పుస్తకాలూ ఎందుకు చదవడం లేదు. ఇంతటి నేరాలు, ఘోరాలు జరుగకుండా నియంత్రించడానికి ఎందుకు మీలో చైతన్యం కల్గడం లేదూ?
