When travelling, there are many things you must take into consideration. In this video, I go over everything you should take into consideration from a language learning perspective before travelling.

(1:02) 1- Greetings/Gratitude – they are essential to showing respect and basic communication
(2:18) 2- Numbers – Knowing how to count money can prevent you from being scammed, learn different units of currency in said country
(4:12) 3- Names of locations you are visiting – many names of locations in English are completely changed or transliterated, so if you say them in English to locals you they may not know what you are talking about
(5:07) 4- Asking for directions – essential especially if you are going to be walking or taking public transportation

– If you are from a country which uses different eating utensils than the one you are visiting, be sure to learn the words for fork and spoon, which will facilitate your eating experience.
– Learn how to ask if someone speaks English. Just learn the set phrase.
